About Us

Hello, I am Santiago, the founder of BOOM literature. We found it frustrating to search and prowl through shelves and shelves of bookstores before we found a book from or about Latin American. So the thought of a place, where you look at a book, and know the author or subject matter is about or from the many diverse and different cultures of Latin America began to form itself. BOOM is the the start of this idea, a seed, that will someday grow into a wide and strong tree.

The name BOOM

The name BOOM comes from the Latin American BOOM literary movement. The name BOOM was chosen to honor these authors and to continue with Latin American ideas, history, and authors as a staple of literature, not a 20 year period. The logo with the name BOOM is of a walnut branch from the tree José Arcadio Buendía was tied to. We hope to untie José Arcadio Buendía, moving forward and not limiting the ideas of Latin America.

The Future

Now you see used books in front of you. The future has new authors from Latin America published through BOOM. The goal of BOOM is to bring Latin American literature, history, and voices to you, and in the future we want to be a publishing house for new Latin American authors and offer translations of works from Latin America to you.
